Belle Époque, Antique, French Muse Pendant with Chain

A beautiful find.

Crafted using traditional French bijouterie creuse (hollow jewellery) techniques, this antique Belle Époque pendant (c.1890-1910) features a beautifully detailed, double-sided silhouette, combining a romantic classical profile with an ornate, structural frame.

The pendant features an identical design on both the front and back. The central medallion showcases a beautifully struck profile of a classical Muse, enclosed by an elegant eight-lobed scalloped border accented with delicate beadwork.

Sourced directly from the prestigious Paul Bert Serpette market in Paris.

Comes with a complimentary, gold-tone costume jewellery bail and chain (18 inch length).

Item is in good antique condition, beautifully showcasing its 100+ year history.

The piece preserves its rich, warm "old gold" pigmentation and crisp bas-relief detailing. The double-shell construction holds its shape perfectly, featuring a visible historical solder seam along the side rim (a characteristic marker of its authentic turn-of-the-century manufacturing process).

The original hanging bail is missing and has been replaced with a modern, costume jewellery bail and chain. The pendant could be kept on the complimentary chain, or threaded directly onto a fine gold chain.

Minor, negligible surface wear and natural patina consistent with light historical use. A beautiful historical piece, waiting to be reworn.
